The old folks never cease to amaze me with the crazy ways in which they run tournaments. First, everyone is allowed to use their pre-release foil card in their sealed pool. That put almost everyone into playing black. Second, it was double elimination with a top 4 playoff. Don't ask me how that works, I'm still not sure, but in the end it was Matthew, Jason, Ben and myself. Third, and this is the strangest part, they didn't have organized rounds of play. If someone finished early, they could find someone else of similar record and start up another match. Some people had played 2 to 3 matches before I finished my first. So it was rather chaotic.
I managed to uphold the Mirran honor and took down the traitor Jason in the final match. Though honestly I should not have beat Matthew the previous round to end up facing Jason. We had a play mistake involving a steel hellkite that resulted in me stealing a game from Matthew.

I did the Mirrodin prerelease there.
The prizes were really good and everyone there got a door prize. I got a deck box and a buddy of mine got a precon deck for free.
He lets everyone play everyone and has the house rule of allowing you to play with the promo card in your sealed deck. (The promo card was Wurmcoil Engine so it lead to all kinds of lolz) but he has a pretty hands off approach. I think if we showed up in mass and wanted to play there he would kinda let us run our own thing. I know this one is way passed, but I bet he is planning to run an M12 one.
