well mister judge i would say no cause fling deals the damage not the creature but if you souls fire a diffferent story. also since your a judge answer from what i gather. if a creature with infect deals damage to a player that player get posion counters instead so i baneslayer had infect and your opponent was at 20 and she dealt him 5 damage he would sstay at 20 but gain 5 posion counters. and you would still gain life cause she dealing damage?

Admittedly, Ben is right John. To John's defense though, he was unsure as to how Fling read, I'm sure because it clearly says "Fling deals.." And Ben, you are also correct on poison counters. Infect says "damage dealt is in the form of poison counters." So yes, BS Angel would deal 5 poison counters, not damage. BS with infect would be retarded, right? 2 swings, win game?

This may not really belong here, but I didn't want to start a new thread: So I was reading a little about the story line that took place in Mirrodin. Apparently, Memnarch was "destroyed" by Karn, so should not make an appearance in this set. HOWEVER, one of the playmats is a a picture of Memnarch: a much cooler one than the old one at that. So I take it that we are going to see a new Memnarch?
I heard that Patrick Chapin accidentally dropped the ball concerning Elspeth in the new set. He said something like "Elspeth will replace Knight of the Reliquary..." Interesting. Also, one website has Elspeth as the 8th card in the set for some reason which would make her a white girl, not bi-racial. The "Knight" comment though points more towards her being Gold.
I'm seeing Koth also spelled Kost. Don't know why.
Zendikar had only 3 Planeswalkers. Rise had 2. If Wizards keeps up with this then Karn may not be featured as a Planeswalker until the next set since Venser, Elspeth, and Koth are all pretty much confirmed Planeswalkers. Unless Venser isn't a Planeswalker..

venser is a planswalker, and zendikar block had 6 planeswalkers matter of fact, lorwyn had 5 garruk, chandra, vess, jace, ajani, alara block had ajani, elspeth, tezzeret, sarkan vol, bolas so thats 5 in alara block, zendikar had sorin, chandra, nissa, jace the mind sculptor, sarkhan, gideon ( who by the way was only made cause the writer of the punishing fire made gideon a guy in the book. ) so you have 6 but really 5. so there is a cycle of 5 walkers per set. so mirrodin you have elspeth, koth, venser, karn , and i am going on a limb and saying glissa since she is a walker from mirrodin or slobad, matter of fact i am going on a limb here( whoa not again loco i know) but i will venture to say venser the planeswalker will have flash and one instant ability. to mimic his real card.

I wasn't referring to the block, just this set.
So the memnarch art was memnite, which I really like!

I agree that Memnite is very entertaining. I'd totally run a 4x Ornithopter, 4x Memnite, 4x Steel Overseer, 4x Voltaic Key, Xx control elements deck.
