In short, Vintage is a completely dead format in Mississippi. But I am interested in changing that.
I have a feeling that there were some issues regarding the way I tried to start a vintage tourny before with the league. I think I am going to take it a little easier now, if you will indulge me and read just a little...maybe we can have some fun!
I am currently living in Jackson and would be willing to get a location ready and provide the prize for an initial Vintage tourny at a location convenient for anyone else that wants to show up if we can get a little interest. I am open to suggestions and anticipate unlimited proxies.
Anyone have any ideas or interest in this? I was thinking about trying to do $10 entry, unlimited proxy, and have a Mana Drain or similar $100 prize for 1st if we can get enough people to show.
Let me know what you guys think. First and foremost, before me getting to play, whether or not I will break even, or all else - I want Mississippi to have a vintage community similar to those up north. These people are friends, they have fun, they help young and newer players, and they get to play a unique aspect of magic.
Dont believe the stereotypes. If you read a single tourny report, you will find that this format is not nearly as swingy or expensive (proxies) as the people who dont play it would have you believe.
PS - If there was a problem with the tournament or some issue that I am not aware of before, I sincerely apologies although I am not sure how I could have pissed someone off. Lets break through the barriers and find a way to enjoy all aspects of the game.
Best of luck on your existing concerns,
Nick
