Week 2 - (March 4th)
The doorways into and out of Mirrodin's Core must be held! The Champions of the Mirran armies are reeling from the initial onslaught, but they have turned back to once again face the oncoming Phyrexian Hordes. The lines must be drawn here. The Champions must rally their forces. They must prove they are a force that can drive away their invaders. In fact to their foes, you might could say they are now their Archenemies?!
Week 2 brings about the first MAJOR BATTLE of the Mirrodin War League!
This week, both Mirran Champions - Lord Lowe and Bubba of Mephidross - will play an Archenemy game against 3 Phyrexian opponents. Their will be 2 different Archenemy decks made and given to the Champions as soon as they arrive to the event. They may look through them and adjust their decks however they choose at that time. The Phyrexian players will not know what cards will be in those decks until they play the game.
The Phyrexian Praetors must choose 6 of the Phyrexian players other than themselves to launch their assault against the Mirran Champions, divided into 2 groups.
Both the Mirran Champions and the Phryexian players participating in the Archenemy games may not play any League not tiebreaker) games this week.
The Archenemy games will use all the normal rules for an Archenemy game. To poision an Archenemy it takes 20 poison counters. The Phyrexian players do not get a free mulligan in this game.
All the Phyrexian Players participating in an Archenemy game automatically earn 4 points in the league. For every one of their teammates in the same game that die before them, they earn an additional 2 points. In addition, if the team defeats the Mirran Champion they all earn 2 points and Phyrexia wins 6 War Badges.
The Mirran Player participating in the Archenemy game automatically earns 3 points in the league. For each opponent he defeats, he earns an additional 3 points, and Mirran earns 3 War Badges.
The winning side for each Archenemy game also earns their side the opportunity to purchase an additional Booster Pack this week at the end of the event!
All other payers may Skirmish as normal.
Who knows what aftermath will come from all this?! One thing is for certain...Mirrodin will never be the same.
