The Mirran Champions have dealt a crushing blow to the advancing Phyrexian horde. The major gateways out the core have been held, and one of the gateways is now guarded by a colossal behemoth that barely seems of this world. It's tainted form is a disturbing site to the armies under the Champion of Mephidross' command. Still the Phyrexian forces now have no chance to make their way past this keeper.
Unbeknownst to the Mirran Champions, this entire assault was a hopeful ruse. It allowed true smaller forces boldly led by the Phyrexian Praetors themselves to slide into the greater realm of Mirrodin. All the Prateors needed was for but one general to continue his advance past the gateways. The complete failure of all these commanders will now cause the Phyrexian Praetors much hardships and dangers, and if the gates get sealed...their most secret plans will be foiled far beyond any mortal of this world's imagination.
This week, both of the Mirran Champions are moving their forces deeper into the core in an attempt to seal the gates Phyrexia opened. They have sent messengers to their outlying generals to aid and assault. The Phyrexian generals however are falling back praying they can repel the counterassault knowing their Praetor Lords will punish them severly for allowing this to happen. The Praetors have to momentarily abandon their plots and send their forces into the way of select Mirran forces attempting to assist. The Gates must not be closed. What the Mirrans do not realize is that not all doorways opened lead back to the planes of Phyrexia. As the Mirrans approach the core, this becomes all too apparent.
This week it is up to all players to talk and plan with other players to play 1 Planechase game. Each game must consist of either 3 or 4 players. The games will use the Eternities Map variant found here.
The game must include at least 1 Mirran and 1 Phyrexian Player and can not include 3 from the same faction. For each player of a faction that is defeated, each player of the oppossing faction gets 3 League points. Players of the same faction each earn 1 Leagu point. Every player that successfully arranges for their Planechase game in this thread ahead of time will earn their Faction 2 War Badges. In addition, whomever involved in each Planechase game gives the best prologue description of their battle to come(as deemed by the League Commishioneer) will earn their side 3 more bonus War Badges.
During the Planechase game, since the Mirran players currently have the most War Badges they strike first and have homeland knowledge of how the gates leading into the core function (or at least knowledge of the lore). To represent this, the Mirran player(s) go first. Also, 1 time during the game whenever they would roll a Planar Die, they may instead choose to automatically roll the Planechase Symbol. Also, 1 timed during the game whenever thy would rall a Planar Die, they may instead choose to automaticaly roll the Chaos Symbol. At the end of the game, if a Mirran player has either of these free rols left, they may trade them in for 1 League Point each, but only if the Mirran(s) win the game. When a Planechase game ends, all the players must record what Plane the game ended in on their League Record Sheets. If by chance, the game ends in either the Panopticon or the Glimmervoid Basin, then the Mirran side earns 5 War Badges. If by chance, the game ends in either The Fourth Sphere or the Pools of Becoming then the Phyrexian Player(s) earns 5 War Badges and 1 League Point for each Phyrexian Player still in the game.
In addition to the Planechase game, each player may play in up to 2 normal Skirmish games this week. For each skirmish game you win against an oppossing faction your win for your side 1 War Badge.
Also, the Phyrexian Praetors MUST attack 1 Mirran Player prior to playing a Planechase game. Please try to complete this game beore the event for the evening begins if possible or as soon as possible into the evening. The Phyrexian Praetor should challenge that player in these forums ahead of time. You may not challenge a Mirran Champion. For every day that the challenge goes unresponded to on these forums, the Prateor will earn his side 1 War Badge. This game is played as a normal Skirmish with this exception - Mirran decks for this game may not contain any cards of your oppossing faction. The Phyrexian player may play with cards of any faction at no penalty. If the Mirran player wins he earns 2 War Badges. If the Mirran player loses he earns 2 League Points instead of 1. If the Phyrexian Praetor wins, he earns 1 War Badge and the Mirran player will begin their next League (not tiebreaker) game at 18 life with 1 Poison counter.
Will the gates be sealed, or will a new hidden evil be revealed?
