Well the main thing I would want to see is games! Next, a nice open area with some tables and chairs so that we can sit around and play games.

Got a lot of stuff
1. Have a website/facebook that lists everything that will happen in the store at least a couple days in advance. Having times and dates and starting somewhat on time should be the rule.
2. Create novel events (doesn't have to happen often...every couple of months I guess) and promote them heavily. Having a "win dual land/tarmogoyf/etc." every 3-6 months as a way to get people from the surrounding area to visit the store.
3. Have two headed giant sealed at prereleases
4. Food/ cold drinks
5. Singles
7. T-shirts and other store specific merchandise so I can rep my store at PTQs and such.

I agree on holding the big, special events. But I also feel that having more than just FNM each week would be awesome. Maybe have a standard tourney on a specified night, outside of Friday?
Also, I'm a really big fan of stores who give the option of getting their prize in store credit. If we go with our tournament payout, for example, each person could have the choice of their X packs or get $3 store credit for each pack they would have received.

I like these suggestions. How about a player's club with exclusive member bonuses with a yearly fee? How much would you pay and what benefits would you want?

players club?
Maybe if I payed 50 bucks I would get something like
a t-shirt a store specific deckbox or a sticker to put on a deckbox the repped the store a playmat a box of sleeves and a free hotdog and a soda at every prerelease that year

Have something to do in between rounds, or for the person who just wanders in and wants to hang out/look but doesn't have anything to play/do. For example, I know that arcade games can be rented from several places, there's one I've heard of (have to ask the name from Dad if there's any interest) that, instead of charging an arm and a leg to rent, simply splits what each machine gets in quarters per week with you or whatever. Who knows, just having a machine or two maybe be enough to get people in the door, and they'll most likely get played by the people who would be at the store anyway.

How about 100 for the exclusive member fee and this membership includes:
1. Lower price on FNM drafts. (You only pay for 2 packs)
2. The gear and food mentioned earlier.
3. Certain amenities in the store.
4. And members get 1 free non-FNM event a year.

I think going the whole "one free non-FNM event a year" thing is a bad idea. What if I wanted to cash mine in at a prerelease or a PTQ? that's a large chunk of profit down the drain if every "exclusive member" did this, and I don't think the store would last long at that rate. Just my view on the situation.

I think as far as tournaments go for the members, I think it would work better to have tournaments specifically marketed towards the members every few months, like the box events we used to have. Members get to play for free/only paying for packs if sealed/draft. If you hold four a year (maybe in between prereleases/releases?), then that gives the members plenty to look forward to and additional "big" tourneys to draw non-members in.
