Okay. So we can't get prereleases. So we are forced to travel around 2 to 3 hours to go places that either have no room, horrible prize support, no air conditioning, or force you to open packs that you win (stay classy Slidell)
So how do we fix this?
How about we have our own sealed event on the Saturday after the prerelease? No one really cares about the horrible prerelease card that comes out, and does anyone really care enough to get some new cards a week earlier if you have to drive, pay for gas, deal with these store problems/subpar payouts, and not get to play with your friends?
I say we simply have a Hattiesburg "release event" for Return to Ravnica on October 8th at the Comfort Suites. It could be sealed so it would be pretty much like a prerelease. I think this would make me and a lot of other people much happier.
Thoughts?

Why not just have it that Friday for the FNM event? We would have the room anyway and some people may not be able to come on a Saturday

We could always go to the old folks home I know all of our team woule make the top spots and if they don't give us the right prizes we alert the dci and have their sanctioning revoked. I talked to the guy who does the tournaments over there. He use to date my cousin and their the reason we can't have pre-releases or FNM promos. So I say we go over there dominate get some promos trade with all the noobs and if they don't give prizes to the winners. We initiate operation obliterate the old folks home.

Charlie that is a bad idea. #1 I personally do not want them to make a profit on me playing in their events. #2 The last event I played in there they did not give out the right prize support, so I alerted DCI and "DCI DID NOTHING". #3 In my opinion the events I played in there were very unorganized and in turn not fun.
The old folks home has NOTHING to do with "Independent TOs that are not linked to a brick and morder store" being able to host Prereleases, Game days, Releases, and FNM events. That is a global rule applied to all Independent TOs. In fact Gulf Coast Cards is now currently working with us to give us the option to host those events, but it will take time for the Gulf Coasts to reach the needed level.
