Patrick and I worked on a BA artifact reanimation deck right before Lorywn Block rotated out. I wonder if that deck will be viable again. I would love to try it. If I don't, I think Patrick will for sure. That deck was SO much fun. Let me see if I can remember the deck list:
4x Merfolk Looter 4x Oona's Prowler 4x Inkwell Leviathan 2x Magister Sphinx 4x Sharuum
4x Torrent of Souls 4x Makeshift Mannequin 3x Negate
That was like the base of the deck. I believe the rest of it was drawing cards and a little bit of control. I think due to some of the more recent changes in creatures and such, this deck gets a facelift. Some changes: a) Sphinx of Lost Truths gets added. b) Rise from the Grave may be viable. c) Sphinx of Jwar Isle may get added. Its great with Makeshift Mannequin, and can happen 4th turn with the right hand. d) I think you want to play Spreading Seas in this deck. At least in the side. Especially when your opponents are going to be playing filters and Reflecting Pool. e) Preordain over Ponder? People may argue this, but I love Preordain. f) Some Sorcery that says "Draw cards, then discard." I can't think of one right now. g) Suggestions?
When the rotation comes I will have 4 decks constructed at all times, hopefully. Two standard decks: 1 serious, 1 casual; and two extended decks: 1 serious, 1 casual.

As long as we find a shell that can find Extended Faeries, I think it can be rather viable. i think agony warp needs an appearance atleast in the side for the Faeries matchup.

For some reason the following thought just came to mind: One big Extended strategy is "1st/2nd turn Survival of the Fittest. Next turn Reanimate big guy."
So maybe now that Fauna Shaman is around, that may be another option. Cut out the Sharuum interaction (also take out Magister Sphinx) and go U/B/G/r (red splash for Torrent of Souls) and play Hellkite Overlord, Sphinx of Jwar Isle (still), and some other significant things I can't think of right now.

That may be better than the artifact base. It's a lot faster atleast.
