Very cool. Leave to Henry to build a staple RDW, lol. Tonight I am going to an extended tournament at the local card shop. I was going to run my Standard RDW with some sideboard adjustments: namely Volcanic Fallout and Magma Spray. I would like to hear some of the reasoning for his main deck and sideboard choices. Such cards as: Smoldering Spires Rift Bolt Ember Hauler (more like, how good is he really in this deck?) Relic of Progenitus Bad Moon

bad moon and magus of the moon is in there for decks with a lot of non basic or non basic that do stuff, like dropping that on scapehift and fae is a killer. ember hauler is the real deal he replaces mogg fanatic and does a good job. relic is for graveyard decks and tarmogoyf since he still legal right now. or knight of the reliquary drops them to what they should be.

Just some quick background on the deck before I discuss it. I built the deck about 15 minutes before the event, so obviously it's not terribly tuned. I built the deck assuming a metagame loaded with Faeries, Living End, and a little bit of 5 Color or 3 Color Control decks.
Ben answered most of Jonathon's questions correctly so I only need to expand a little bit. Smoldering Spires was an all star. I faced 2 Fae decks in the tournament and both of them got blown out by just leaving up a bitterblossom token to chump block, allowing me to set up turns where I could play Spire and drop Ball Lightning or Boggart Ram-Gang to smash.
There are a few changes I'd make to the deck at this point though. I was very disappointed by both Plated Geopede and Rift Bolt. Both cards felt very ineffective and/or awkward nearly every time I played them.
I would consider putting Magus of the Moon in the maindeck. I wanted to side him in frequently. I'd probably put them in over the Rift Bolts. I'm not sure what I would replace the Geopedes with. Stigma Lasher is the first guy who comes to mind, though he still feels somewhat underpowered.
