I can agree that Mox Opal should be rare. I really can.
However, I do understand the "Mythicness" (or is it "Mythicity"?).
I think that the worst Mythic rare to date, though, is easily Mirror of Fate. That stupid card ruined a lot of packs for me. If Mythics are cool, yet valueless, I have no problem. If a Mythic is valuable, yet dull, I have no problem with that. Mirror of Fate somehow managed valueless AND dull.
And, yes, Sword of Vengeance could have been Mythic. I would've totally agreed with that.

Mirror of Fates is rare. Did you mean Lich's Mirror? They both are atrocious and both wonderful at ruining a perfectly good pack. Why do all the Artifact Mirror's (well...most....) cost 5?

Yeah, that's what I meant. Lich's Mirror.
I got so many of those stupid cards. Shards was not one of my "lucky" sets. I couldn't open Sarkhan, Elspeth, Ajani, Tezzeret, or Rafiq. I opened maybe one of each of those. The rest I had to trade for or buy, which set me back quite a bit. Lich's Mirror, on the other hand, I had plenty of.

If it makes you feel better Patrick, I've opened 4 Foil copies of Lich's Mirror. How disappointing to see that you have a foil, then see that shiny orange symbol staring at you, for it to be Lich's Mirror. At least it looks kinda cool foil

i would rather a foil lich's mirror over non foil cause then you can use it for trade fodder.

Mythics are rediculous because for every new player they reel in who will play for a month or two, they push away (or at least piss off) players who have been playing for years. It is hard to justify spending more than $50 on a single card. Making flavorful cards Mythic just adds to the problem of excessively expensive singles because it makes casual players want them too (example being Baneslayer Angel).
Mox Opal should have been rare, bottom line. Chrome Mox was rare and it settled at around $18. Since the price of packs has increased by a factor of 1 and 1/3, if Wizards had continued with the current rarities, Mox Opal should have settled around $24 (assuming its price increase corresponds directly with the price of packs which will naturally increase over time). However because of the new Mythic status making it 44% less common than if all the rares in the set were equally distributed, it will probably end up being about $35 if not more. I haven't included a factor that accounts for the increasing popularity of the game (increasing the demand for these cards resulting in even higher prices).
I think the best solution for Mythics is to keep them around but they should appear in packs as common as if all the rare and mythic cards were all just rares. This keeps new players interested in the mythicness of these cards but doesn't make them harder to obtain for players who play in tournaments and collectors who seek to have every card or a playset of every card.

how do i close the argument, all i a saying is on ebay they are going for 120 plus. and very rare cases you see one or two for 100 buy it now. i was jut wondering what people would be willing to spend or not spend like the next person i would love to not spend 50 bucks a card(jace 2.0) but lets be real if you can get a deal before the price explodes wouldnt you. sure we all hate mythic but we have to live with them. and trading for them gonna be a arm and a leg.
